Some Observations and Historiography on Pskovian Architects in Moscow in the Last Quarter of the 15th century.

Although having been studied for almost a century, the issue of the Pskovian master builders who, according to the chronicles, took part in the construction of Moscow churches in the last quarter of the 15th century, remains controversial. Ascribed to them by the chronicles are such monuments principal for the Moscow architecture as the Holy Spirit Church in Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the Cathedral of the Annunciation and the Church of the Deposition of the Robe in the Moscow Kremlin. Architectural features of these monuments up to date haven’t received a convincing interpretation among researchers. This article comprises an overview of the studies on this issue and outlines the directions of further study.
